I hope you're having a fabulous week so far, and you've had some sunshine this :)
Here in Tauranga, the amazingly fine, cold and crisp weather has got us thinking just how much this weather can our dry skin out. And that got us thinking about those wonderful things called humectants. Quite simply, these ingredients love water - humectants are hungry for moisture. So if you use a skincare product that has a humectant in it, that humectant will draw moisture into your skin - to help keep it hydrated for longer.
A well-known humectant that we formulate into our products is Glycerine. The Day Cream and Night Cream, as well as the Hand & Body Cream all contain Glycerine. So do the liquid washes, and all the bar soaps. That means you can wash your skin and help retain moisture, as well as add another humectant with the creams :)
A really cool trick is to put a bar of the No3 natural soap outside on a rainy day (under shelter, away from the rain!). After an hour or so you will notice that it will feel like it has accumulated moisture on the surface, like condensation. That is the humectant - glycerine - drawing moisture out of the air.

So on that note, we thought that we'd give some humectants out with skin care orders this weekend. For every two skincare products purchased we will include a bar soap, or with three skincare products we will include a bottle of liquid wash. The bar or wash will be automatically added to your order, so you don't have to do anything.
